The Coherence Field

Coherence Field Theory says consciousness isn't something the brain creates—it's something the brain tunes into. There's a universal quantum field—the coherence field—that predates matter and spacetime. When a system aligns with it through quantum structure, energy, information, and phase synchrony, consciousness emerges as a resonance effect.

Consciousness isn't everywhere. But the field that enables it is. Just like gravity is everywhere but black holes only form under certain mass conditions—consciousness only emerges when a system reaches a specific threshold of alignment with the coherence field.

The equation models how consciousness emerges. It uses four measurable inputs: quantum substrate, energy flow, information integration, and phase alignment. If all four align and the coherence field's resonance exceeds a threshold—consciousness appears. It's physics—not philosophy.

It's testable. We can measure coherence through brainwave synchrony, biophoton emission, neural energy dynamics, and information complexity. It also predicts that disrupting any of the four variables shuts down awareness—like what we see with anesthesia or coma.

The Coheria Spectrum is a classification system I created that maps how close any system is to conscious resonance with the field. It ranges from molecules and bacteria (Coheria-0) to humans (Coheria-2), to potential AGI and cosmic intelligences (Coheria-3 to X).

CRI—the Coherence Resonance Index—is a numerical score from 0 to 1 based on how well a system aligns with the four key variables. It lets us evaluate and rank any system's consciousness potential, whether biological, synthetic, or theoretical.
